Northrop Grumman Names Robert L. Del Boca Head Defensive Sys Div
Rolling Meadows IL (SPX) Jan 19, 2006 Northrop Grumman has appointed Robert L. Del Boca as sector vice president and general manager of the company�s Defensive Systems Division, effective immediately. Del Boca succeeds James L. Cameron, who recently was named corporate vice president and president of the company�s new Technical Services sector. In his new position, Del Boca will have executive responsibility for defensive systems and land forces programs at facilities in Rolling Meadows; Apopka, Fla.; Baltimore, Md.; Buffalo, N. Y.; Garland, Tex.; and Tempe, Ariz. Del Boca, joined Litton Industries in 1986 when it acquired CLS Laser Systems, which he co-founded. Northrop Grumman acquired Litton in 2001. He has subsequently held a number of executive positions with the company�s laser systems business in Apopka. In 1997, he was appointed vice president of engineering and the following year was named president of the laser systems business unit. In 2002, he was appointed director of the infrared countermeasures business area for the Defensive Systems Division, and, most recently, has served as vice president of infrared countermeasures and laser systems. Del Boca earned a bachelor�s degree in physics from Fordham University and a doctorate in physics from the University of Connecticut. He has authored and presented numerous technical papers on laser applications. In addition, he has completed executive education programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
