Tripoli, Lebanon, Aug 2, 2006 Israeli warplanes attacked two bridges in northern Lebanon near the Syrian border early Wednesday, hours after the expiry of a partial suspension in bombing, Lebanese police said. Police sources said two bridges were destroyed in the region of Akkar some five kilometres (three miles) from Syria, which Israel accuses of helping to supply the Shiite Hezbollah militia based in Lebanon. Israel called a 48-hour partial halt to air attacks after a raid on the Lebanese village of Qana on Sunday which killed 52 civilians, most of them women and children. The lull expired at 2:00 am Wednesday (2300 GMT Tuesday). Community Email This Article Comment On This Article Related Links Nuclear Space Technology at Space-Travel.com
