Dulles VA (SPX) Oct 27, 2004 Orbimage Tuesday announced that it has received notice from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency ("NGA") that a protest of Orbimage's recent award for the development and launch of a satellite under NGA's NextView Second Vendor Program has been filed before the Government Accountability Office by New SI, a competing bidder under the program. NGA has directed Orbimage to continue working under the contract awarded during the protest proceeding. Orbimage believes that the protest is lacking in merit, and intends to provide assistance to NGA in defense of the contract award. Orbimage is confident that it will prevail in retaining the project award. Should Orbimage be directed to stop work on the contract it expects to recover its costs of performance of the contract to date, and, in the event the Government re-bids the award, Orbimage expects to compete successfully in any such re-bid.
