National Clean Fuels has disclosed that Management has moved its focus from Due Diligence to the forming of terms for a Definitive Agreement with Emission Phase Acquiring Solutions (EPAS) - owner of a breakthrough proprietary carbon emissions technology.

There is great speculation that the EPAS technology can be the carbon output monitoring standard for third-party regulators, especially taxing authorities worldwide.

Carbon emissions early this year overtook Brent crude oil to become the largest commodity type traded in Europe. Richard Sandor, the founder of the Chicago Climate Exchange, says it is only a matter of time before this becomes a global phenomenon.

The future of a national carbon tax law is taking center stage in the US, while a new carbon tax for Canada and Australia appears likely to be enacted soon. Montgomery County, MD has passed the US's first carbon tax at $5 per ton of CO2. The county expects to raise $10-15 million annually from the tax.

"Government entities are beginning to enact carbon taxes now. The problem they are encountering is the current lack of a verifiable standard to make sure the right tax is being paid," stated Maurice Stone, President of NACF. "The EPAS technology aims to solve this problem for taxing authorities worldwide - for a price. That is a very exciting position for us to be in right now."

Through its proprietary infrared based technology, EPAS is able to give real-time carbon emissions as well as MW production data on all types of power plants, including coal, gas and nuclear.

The technology has patent pending in the US and internationally, since 2005. The information is provided 24/7 and is specific, down to the individual unit. In addition, because it is visually based, clients can confirm for themselves the status of the plants by simply looking at a live picture. The whole package is delivered in an easy to read web based format.

This technology provides crucial information to emission traders, energy traders, power plant operators, and emissions regulators, and gives them a potent competitive advantage in their respective fields.
