The Roundtable will convene regulatory and legislative energy policy leaders from Michigan as well as top executives from competitive energy suppliers and technology companies to discuss the impact of competitive energy markets on economic growth, job creation, local and global competitiveness and lowering costs to Michigan consumers and businesses. NEM members will be joined by Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley as a keynote luncheon speaker. Meeting participants and discussion leaders will also include Michigan Public Service Commission (MIPSC) Chairman John D. Quackenbush; Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PAPUC) Commissioner James Cawley; MI Senators Arlan Meekhof; Howard Walker; and Coleman Young II; as well as MI Representatives Mike Shirkey; Aric Nesbitt, Ken Horn and MIPSC Staff. Additionally, utility representatives and energy consumers will be in attendance. "We look forward to gathering top energy policy leaders to discuss Michigan's electric and natural gas markets and avenues of potential change that will benefit the State and its citizens," said Craig Goodman, President of NEM. "NEM members are committed to serving Michigan electric and natural gas consumers. NEM members look forward to the Opportunity to Serve increasing numbers of Michigan electric consumers with the best service, the best price, and the best technologies. Over half a million of Michigan natural gas consumers are currently participating in energy choice and have had the right to choose a competitive supplier for a decade. "As the natural gas and electric markets continue to expand, consumers should expect and will receive the exemplary customer service that they deserve coupled with the custom-tailored and technology-enabled energy product offerings that are the promise of a competitive marketplace," said Goodman. NEM is a national, non-profit trade association representing wholesale and retail marketers of natural gas, electricity, as well as energy and financial related products, services, information and advanced technologies throughout the United States, Canada and the European Union.
