LISA Pathfinder Spacecraft Test Phase About To Start
Ottobrun, Germany (SPX) Jan 18, 2007 The first test article of the LISA Pathfinder spacecraft, the Development Model of the On Board Computer has arrived at the prime contractor facilities of Astrium Ltd, Stevenage, UK in the last week of December 2006. This model has been manufactured by Astrium GmbH in Ottobrun, Germany and is capable to support all the test activities at Real-Time test bench level. The initial integration with the Onboard Software, the TM/TC Front End Equipment and the Central Checkout System will take place at Stevenage before the DM OBC is delivered to Astrium GmbH in Friedrichshafen for integration into the Drag Free Attitude Control System (DFACS) Test Bench in March 2007. ESA On Target For Rosetta Mars Swing By February 25
Paris, France (ESA) Jan 16, 2007During the past several weeks ESA's Rosetta mission management team has begun the first preparatory activities for the Mars Swing-by (MSB) phase. The MSB Phase formally started on 28 July 2006. The actual Mars swing-by will take place on 25 February 2007, followed by a Deep Space Manoeuvre in April 2007.
