China's ambitions to become a major global power in the world of supercomputing were given a boost when one of its machines was ranked second-fastest in a survey. Donor countries were to meet in the Dominican Republican Wednesday for a summit on the international effort to rebuild Haiti, still struggling after being leveled by a massive January earthquake.
