U.S. Army awards $1.05 billion D3I contract
by Ryan Maass
Washington (UPI) Dec 18, 2015

The U.S. Army has awarded a $1.05 billion contract to multiple companies to support its Design, Development, Demonstration, and Integration Domain 3 program.

The program, also known as D3I, aims to enhance the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and Army Forces Strategic Command's defensive capabilities. The acquisition program has three domains, with Domain 3, "Enhanced Warfighter Capabilities," focused development of enhanced space, missile defense, and high altitude capabilities for the warfighter.

Domain 1 is "Space, High Altitude, and Missile Defense/Ground Systems" and Domain 2 is "Information Integration and Data Exploitation."

Companies included in the Domain 3 development contract are Aegis Technologies, Decisive Analytics, Quantum research International, and Radiance Technologies. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is a 100 percent small business set-aside, with a total potential program ceiling value of $1.05 billion

"This is a significant win for our company and employee-owners," Decisive Analytics President and CEO John Donnellon said in a statement. "Our team worked tirelessly on capturing this effort and formulating a winning strategy. We are extremely proud to be working with the USASMDC/ARSTRAT to extend the capabilities of the brave men and women who defend our country."

Participating companies will be tasked with conducting research for the development of space, missile defense and high altitude hardware components and software solutions for warfighters to support multiple strategic commands, combatant commands, and the Department of Defense.
