Spammer To Pay Microsoft Millions In Court Settlement

 A purported super-spammer and his insurance company have agreed to pay computer software giant Microsoft seven million dollars to resolve a pending civil suit, the man's lawyer said Tuesday.

The settlement is being pondered by a federal judge in the state of Colorado and, if approved as expected, will erase the legal woes of Optinrealbig.com and end the company's bid to claim bankruptcy, said attorney Steven Richter.

Richter is general counsel for the Colorado-based internet advertising company founded by his son, Scott, who has been accused of being among the world's top spammers.

"It is all good news," Steven Richter told AFP. "Scott is pleased that he has reached this settlement and is excited about the new opportunities for Optin."

 The US military is mounting a 300 million dollar psychological operations campaign to sway international opinion of the US war on terrorism through messages placed in foreign media, officials said Wednesday.
