Seakr To Market Rugged Data Storage System

Englewood - October 4, 1999 -
Seakr Engineering, Incorporated announced that they have reached agreement with Metrum-Datatape Incorporated (MDI), to be an authorized distributor of their Tape And Rigid-disk Replacement System (TARRS). Metrum-Datatape, a wholly owned subsidiary of SYPRIS Solutions, Incorporated, is headquartered in Littleton, Colorado.

Company sources at Seakr say that the TARRS has been designed to meet a wide range of rugged environmental, EMI, and Military standards. It is ideally suited for data acquisition applications, where rugged, survivable, highly reliable data acquisition, storage and retrieval requirements are demanded.

The standard TARRS system offers capacities ranging from 12 to 48 GigaByte capacities at data rates in excess of 30 MegaBytes per second and is completely solid state, offering no moving parts.

The system design relies on Seakr's proven "Building Block" concept to product design and evolution and capitalizes on over 17 years of design heritage.

This concept allows TARRS users flexibility in configuration, expandability, and program environmental compliance within a single enclosure.

Randolph Twogood, Director of Military Electronics at Seakr says, "We are forging ahead with a comprehensive strategic plan. Our association with Metrum-Datatape provides the critical thrust into market exposure necessary for the success of the TARRS product line."

Metrum-Datatape currently operates 12 U.S. and has 18 international or independent channel partner offices. Seakr says the result is a formidable competitive alliance that is capable and well positioned to achieve market dominance for data acquisition and storage products.

Seakr Engineering has delivered in excess of 400 mass memory systems to U.S. Government, Prime contractor and Foreign Service Customers. Moreover, Seakr has designed, built and launched twenty-six (26) Spacecraft Solid State Memory (SSSM) Systems.

All have performed flawlessly, with Bit Error Rates of zero, on flights ranging from low earth orbit to interplanetary missions. Seakr has been credited with pioneering the SSSM market by building small 100 Mbit systems, and has evolved its designs to current deliverable capacities well over 600 Gbits.

Satellite Launch To Boost DTH In India
Calcutta, India (SPX) Dec 28, 2005
The successful launch Thursday of India's heaviest satellite from spaceport of Kourou in French Guyana may have boosted the country's space research efforts to yet another level, but it has also lifted the spirits of at least three Direct-To-Home televisions broadcasters, one of which has been waiting for years to launch its services in India.
