Raytheon Awarded Contract For Anti-Jam GPS Antenna Systems For Eurofighter

The Eurofighter Typhoon.

 Raytheon Systems has been awarded a contract by Northrop Grumman, Lital S.p.A., Italy, for anti-jam antenna systems for Tranche 2 of the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The contract, valued at �6.4 million, calls for 265 GPS Antenna Systems for delivery starting in 2006 and running through to 2012.

Richard Claydon, RSL's head of navigation systems, said, "This is an important contract for Raytheon and follows on from our earlier contract for Tranche 1 aircraft. Eurofighter Typhoon is a high-profile programme and we are proud to have been selected to supply these systems to Lital S.p.A."

He added, "Raytheon has considerable experience in this field of technology and is a major supplier of jam-resistant antenna systems for a wide range of platforms throughout the world. We have developed a reputation for reliability and are engaged on continuous product improvement"

 Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin will seek an international pact to ban weapons in space if his Liberals are returned to power in a January 23 election, according to the party platform.
