Raytheon Awarded $59 Million in Contract Extension for Global Broadcast Service
Reston - Nov 04, 2003 Raytheon Company has been awarded an additional $59 million to its Global Broadcast Service (GBS) contract by the U.S. Air Force's Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom, AFB, Mass., extending services through December 2005. Raytheon will perform the work at various customer sites with management and administrative support out of its Reston, Va., facility. "Raytheon looks forward to developing and supplying hardware and software system upgrades to fully transition the existing architecture to the latest DoD-directed and computer industry Internet Protocol 4 standard," said Guy Dubois, vice president of Information Management and Dissemination Systems for Raytheon. Raytheon's work on the contract will focus on engineering, production, logistics, and operational support to upgrade the existing Air Force GBS satellite communications, deployed worldwide, to all of the U.S. military services. The system, operational after the events on Sept. 11, 2001, provides high capacity broadcast products including audio, video, files, and Web services. Space Group To Activate New Unit
Colorado Springs CO (SPX) Jan 6, 2006Air Force Reserve Command's 310th Space Group will travel deeper into the space program when it activates a new unit Jan. 7. Headquarters Reserve National Security Space Institute will be a Reserve associate unit to the National Security Space Institute in Colorado Springs, Colo. The institute is the Department of Defense's focal point for providing education about space power in joint warfighting. |
