Pakistan To Launch Satellite From Russian Pad
Islamabad (AFP) May 8, 2000 - Pakistan will soon launch its indigenously designed space satellite from a Russian launching station in Kazakhstan, an official report said Monday. The country's Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) said the experimental satellite, Badar-2, will be launched from Kazakhstan, the Associated Press of Pakistan said. Badar-2 designed by Pakistani space scientists will be launched "very soon," it said without giving a date. The satellite will provide data on communications and weather forecasts which Suparco will use for its future planning, the news agency said. Copyright 1999 AFP. All rights reserved.
