Dulles VA (SPX) Aug 11, 2005 Orbimage announced Wednesday the appointment of several key positions to its Worldwide Sales and Marketing organization to lead the company's sales initiatives, business development opportunities and marketing pursuits for its OrbView satellite imagery products and value-added services. Most recently Orbimage named Mr. M.G. Chandrasekhar, Ph.D. ("Dr. Chandra") and Mr. Mark Tuohy to the Company's international sales team. Dr. Chandra is an internationally renowned and award winning space scientist who worked for more than 25 years at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) where he held several key executive positions in the development and execution of India's Earth observation satellite programs. Dr. Chandra now serves as the Company's Vice President, International Sales. His sales territories include India, Africa and Middle East regions. Prior to joining Orbimage, Dr. Chandra served as Executive Vice President of Technology and Product Development for WorldSpace Corporation (Washington, DC), and was primarily responsible for the launch of its mobile satellite radio solutions. Mark Tuohy joined Orbimage as Senior Director for International Sales with emphasis on sales to the Asia- Pacific region. Mr. Tuohy comes most recently from Digital Globe (Longmont, CO) as Director of International Sales. Prior to that, he served as International Channel Manager for Space Imaging Corporation (Thornton, CO) and brings over 20 years of professional sales experience from various industries. "These key additions to our Sales and Marketing team represent the next era in Orbimage's growth as we leverage the health and capacity of our OrbView-3 high resolution imaging satellite while simultaneously preparing for the launch of OrbView-5, our next generation satellite. Mark and Dr. Chandra are accomplished and talented professionals with the right qualities we need to expand our presence and revenues in the international marketplace," said Timothy J. Puckorius, Senior Vice President for Worldwide Sales and Marketing. Other key additions include Mr. Howard Klayman, who was recently named to the position of Senior Director, Federal Civil Programs. An experienced veteran with a proven track record in the satellite remote sensing industry, Mr. Klayman's sales territory is the U.S. Federal Civil Agencies. Prior to joining Orbimage, Mr. Klayman spent five years as Director of Customer Service and Channel Partner Operations for Space Imaging Corporation. He also held senior sales, business development and management positions at MainControl (McLean, VA), and Reuters (Washington, DC and New York, NY). "We are pleased to have Howard as a member of our Federal sales team," said Gary Adkins, Vice President for Federal and National Security Programs. "Howard's background in sales and his proven track record in the realm of geospatial information products and services will significantly help Orbimage build on its existing business and relations with Federal Civilian Agencies." Rounding out the additions to the Sales and Marketing organization is Ms. Nancy Coleman who now serves as Orbimage's Manager of Marketing Communications. Nancy comes to Orbimage most recently as a Director of Marketing from a Virginia based election technology company specializing in election auditing tools. Prior to that, Ms. Coleman was a Marketing Manager for SGI (formerly Silicon Graphics) in support of the field sales organization for Professional Services. Ms. Coleman has over 9 years of marketing and communications experience.
