Orbimage Announces Creation Of Two New Organizational Entities

Dulles VA (SPX) Aug 18, 2005
Orbimage has announced the creation of two new organizational entities to attain better alignment with customers in the domestic and international marketplace.

This new structure will both facilitate growth and increase focus on strategic planning and the expansion of Orbimage's large portfolio of geospatial imagery products and solutions.

The first new entity is called the International Strategic Business Unit (ISBU) which will be responsible for developing new business, strategic partnerships, public relations, and products and services to support Orbimage's growing international network of ground station operators, value-added resellers, and customers.

The international marketplace represents more than half of the Company's current revenues. The second new organizational entity will focus on all other customer relationships, and the overall strategic planning for Orbimage.

It will also be responsible for expanding Orbimage's U.S. government and commercial sales presence and streamlining the Company's corporate communications, marketing, and customer services departments.

"By making these organizational enhancements, Orbimage will be able to meet its business objectives, while better serving our customers and further expanding its role as the industry leader," said Bill Schuster, Orbimage's Chief Operating Officer.

"Both entities will be oriented toward customer satisfaction, strong revenue growth and profitability. Each unit will be led by dynamic managers with proven track records, considerable industry experience, and unwavering dedication to success." Schuster said.

The new International Strategic Business Unit will be lead by Timothy J. Puckorius, Orbimage's Senior Vice President and industry veteran with over 20 successful years in international sales and business development experience.

The new Marketing and Sales organization will be led by Thornton ("Bill") Wilt who joins the Company as Vice President of Marketing & Sales on August 22, 2005. Mr. Wilt comes to Orbimage after successful careers in both the US Navy and industry.

Most recently he was employed at BAE Systems where he served as acting Vice President of the Systems Integration line of business in Reston, VA. He joined BAE Systems in 2001 as the Director of Strategic Planning and was responsible for the business roadmap, M&A activities as well as business capture.

Prior to that, Mr. Wilt worked for twelve years with Lockheed Missile and Space Company primarily involved with National Space Systems and held a variety of positions including Senior Engineer, program manager and director in the Washington Operations office.

Mr. Wilt began his career after graduation from the US Naval Academy serving in aviation commands and on both the OPNAV and SECNAV staffs in the Pentagon. While a naval officer he served in a variety of positions ranging from pilot, aircraft and mission commander to leadership and staff roles and culminating his naval career working strategy, plans and policy in the Pentagon.
