New York Times Joins Satellite Newspapers Group

The Satellite Newspaper kiosk could revolutionize newspapers

North Haven CT - Apr 20, 2004
Satellite Enterprises Corp through its wholly owned subsidiary, Satellite Newspapers Corp., announced today, it has contracted with the New York Times, with a weekday circulation figure of 1.1 million readers and 1.7 million readers on Sunday, to distribute through its "CLIENT" specialized software application, bulk editions in all parts of the globe with the exception of the Americas.

By distributing the newspapers digitally instead of in hardcopy form, as in the past, "CLIENT" allows Account holders to access newspapers hours before they are available on the street.

"CLIENT" allows its customers to have instant access to the Satellite Newspaper Central Hub in the Netherlands with its proprietary software and its Private Multicast Satellite Network, thus providing a distribution "highway" to its Kiosk and "CLIENT" locations around the globe

Marc Kramer, Senior Vice President of Circulation of the New York Times said: "We are pleased to offer our readers another easy way to access The New York Times. The "CLIENT" service offered by Satellite Newspapers provides a terrific complement to our existing distribution channels."

Additionally, new Titles have been added to our growing list of Kiosk Newspaper Customers. El Pais, the largest newspaper in Uruguay, L'Agefi, the French Financial Daily and its counterpart, Actiff, which is published weekly, now join the list making a growing total of 150 newspapers.
