Mobile Satellite Ventures Appoints Michael Yglesias VP Of RF Engineering

Mobile Satellite Ventures, at the forefront of developing the first hybrid satellite-terrestrial communications network, announced today that Mike Yglesias has joined the company as Vice President of RF Engineering.

Mr. Yglesias will be responsible for the overall design segment of the MSV terrestrial Radio Frequency (RF) network. Mr. Yglesias joins MSV from Cingular Wireless, where he held the position of Director of RF Engineering.

"Mike brings strong technical expertise in the areas of RF engineering, network planning, network quality, capital budgeting and network performance," said Mark Faris, Chief Operating Officer of MSV.

"MSV is the leader in next- generation network deployment and we are changing the competitive landscape of wireless services through the integration of satellite and terrestrial networks. MSV's next-generation, ubiquitous network will be seamless, transparent, all IP based and supported by state-of-the-art customer oriented systems. We are looking forward to Mike's contributions in building this network and are pleased that he is part of our seasoned management team."

Mars Atmosphere Researcher Mccleese Named JPL Chief Scientist

The director of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory has appointed Dr. Daniel J. McCleese as the laboratory's chief scientist. JPL's chief scientist is responsible for the scientific leadership and research at the laboratory and serves as the focal point for interactions with universities and the external research community.
