Cedar Rapids IA (SPX) Oct 05, 2005 Rockwell Collins will demonstrate its multi-band, multi-mode ARC-210 radio system's ability to allow voice communications between military aircraft and ground units and local law enforcement and first responders, during the AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, DC, at the company's 2625 booth. "This capability allows military and local officials to cooperate efficiently during emergency operations, enhancing public safety by allowing for quick reaction to developing events," said Bruce King, vice president and general manager of Communications Systems at Rockwell Collins. The demonstrations will take place between the AN/ARC-210 and a handheld radio with a frequency range up to 512 MHz, the range used by civilian authorities. Specific capabilities in the AN/ARC-210's 400 to 512 MHz frequency band include features required for civil service/land mobile agency interoperability. Among the features are transmit and receive operations using channel spacing of 25 to 12.5 kHz; transmit modulation in compliance with Federal Communication Commission bandwidth requirements; and private line encoding and decoding of Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System sub-audible tones.
