Loral Requests That MHR Consider Revising Equity Financing

Loral Space and Communications Inc. announced today that, in response to certain shareholders' recent expressions of interest in participating in its financing plans, it has requested that MHR Fund Management LLC consider proposing an alternative to the recently announced $300 million equity financing transaction that would include the participation of all interested shareholders.

MHR has indicated to Loral that it is pleased with the interest shown by shareholders and that its response will be forthcoming.

Loral Space and Communications is a satellite communications company. It owns and operates a fleet of telecommunications satellites used to broadcast video entertainment programming, distribute broadband data, and provide access to Internet services and other value-added communications services.
