Lockheed Martin gains spot on Army IDIQ contract

Lockheed Martin reports it is eligible to bid on U.S. Army task orders to perform support services for the Tank Automotive and Armaments Command.

The eligibility comes under a five-year, multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a potential total value of $1.1 billion. A total of 2 companies, including Lockheed Martin, hold the award.

"Our team is eager to continue its service to the U.S. Army and will employ both our experience and expertise to provide tailored, actionable solutions to support the customer's mission," said TW Scott, vice president of technical services at Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control.

Task orders under the contract would cover a variety of support services for armored vehicles, machines and systems operated by the Army command, which is known as TACOM.

Lockheed Martin said the services align with many of the core capabilities that the company currently provides customers -- maintenance, repair and overhaul, equipment installation and modification, and technical representative services.
