L-3 Appoints A. Anton Frederickson President And COO Of L-3 Titan Group
New York NY (SPX) Aug 18, 2005 L-3 Communications announced Wednesday that A. Anton Frederickson has been appointed president and chief operating officer of the newly created Titan Group, which consists of several strategic components of the company's recently acquired L-3 Titan subsidiary. Mr. Frederickson will be based at L-3 Titan's offices in Reston, VA, reporting to Frank C. Lanza, chairman and chief executive officer of L-3 Communications. In his new position, Mr. Frederickson will guide the operations and strategy of the new L-3 Titan Group, comprised of four Division lines or businesses, each led by an experienced Titan president and general manager. Earl Pontius heads the Technical Resources Division, providing high-value engineering services including acquisition and operational support to the military and to homeland security customers. Bob Osterloh leads the Systems Integration Division, serving the national intelligence community and providing solutions for the fusion, dissemination and sharing of intelligence data. The Sea and Air Division, under Tom Brennan, provides C4ISR and in-service ship and aircraft engineering services to a range of Department of Defense and international customers. Les Rose heads the Enterprise Services and Solutions Division, providing comprehensive, IT solutions and operations support to both civil and defense-related government organizations as well as commercial clients. Prior to joining L-3, Mr. Frederickson served as senior vice president of The Titan Corporation and general manager of its Applied Technologies Sector, a position he had held since 1998. With over 27 years of engineering and leadership experience, Mr. Frederickson began his career in technology development with California Research and Technology, a defense research firm which was acquired by Titan in 1987. From 1989 until 1995, when he rejoined Titan, Mr. Frederickson served in various technical and management positions in the Defense Nuclear Agency, with a focus on countering weapons of mass destruction proliferation, nuclear weapons effects and ballistic missile defense. "With an extensive background in the management of L-3 Titan's heritage business, Tony is perfectly suited to lead the program activities, engineering and research and development functions of the L-3 Titan Group," said Mr. Lanza. "He is a valuable addition to the company and I look forward to his contributions as we execute on our growth strategy." Mr. Frederickson is a National Security program graduate of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He received Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles.
