Kyocera Solar invites San Diego residents to learn more about clean, renewable solar electric generating systems by visiting its booth at the SOLAR 2008 Show, which includes public events May 3-4 at the Town and Country Convention Center. Special conference events continue through May 8.

Kyocera will exhibit its latest line of larger, more powerful photovoltaic (PV) products, featuring the company's new, 156mm-square solar cells in modules ranging up to 205 watts of electrical output.

Attendees can learn the basics of solar power generation -- including how sunlight is converted into electricity; how to decide if PV is a good solution for your home; how large of a system you should consider; how to locate a qualified system installer; and how to apply for solar-energy incentives and subsidies.

"People everywhere are concerned about energy supplies and the environment," said Steve Hill, president of Kyocera Solar, Inc. "Kyocera's developments in solar energy technology since 1975 have placed us among the world's leading producers of solar modules, which are a major contributor in renewable energy generation."

Kyocera's solar modules feature a 20-year warranty and are renowned for quality and reliability. They are already used throughout San Diego County -- from small home systems to industrial-scale installations at such leading institutions as QUALCOMM Incorporated, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Museum, UCSD's Rady School of Management, Charles Lee Powell Laboratories, and the Alvarado Wastewater Treatment Plant, to name a few.
