NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Fla., will extend its Joint Base Operations Support Contract (JBOSC) for two years to Space Gateway Support (SGS) of Herndon, Va.

The contract extension, valued at approximately $588.7 million, covers Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2006. The total contract value including exercised options is more than $2 billion.

The JBOSC is a performance-based, cost-plus award fee contract to provide base operation and support services at KSC; Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.; and Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.

Under the contract, SGS provides facility and infrastructure operations and maintenance, fire protection, security services, transportation support, grounds maintenance and other base support services.

SGS is a joint venture of Northrop Grumman Technical Services, Herndon, Va.; Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Baton Rouge, La.; and Wackenhut Services, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
