Lanham - May 29, 2003 Integral Systems, Inc. has been contracted by Northrop Grumman Space Systems Division in Azusa, CA to develop a Payload Diagnostic System for the Spaced-Based Infrared High System (SBIRS). SBIRS- High is the high-Earth orbiting component of the U.S. Air Force's Space Based Infrared System, a fleet of advanced satellites that will become the primary initial warning system for ballistic missile attacks. The Payload Diagnostic System is based on Integral's EPOCH 2000 command and control software product line, which is used worldwide for satellite and payload integration, testing, and mission operations. When completed, SPDS will monitor the satellite's instrument payload to determine its performance, detect anomalies, and when necessary generate corrective actions. "We are very excited and very proud that our product solutions are now a part of a system that is so vital to our national defense," said Donald Mack, Vice President of Integral's Integration and Test Division. He added, "Our customer recognized that EPOCH's capability and our unmatched experience will result in a system that will reduce development risk and cost."
