Globecomm Systems Extends Relationship with African Virtual University
Hauppauge - Jan 12, 2004 Globecomm Systems Inc. has extended the company's relationship with African Virtual University ("AVU") with a contract valued at approximately $1.5 million plus potential additional options. The new multi-year contract expands the number of sites in the AVU network and includes options for future expansion. Globecomm has been servicing AVU with its SkyBorne content delivery platform for the past two years. The Company's SkyBorne platform uses Internet Protocol ("IP") multicast technology to deliver high quality video efficiently over IP networks with easy to use television-like operation. AVU uses the SkyBorne platform to provide engineering and scientific courses to a number of universities in Africa. SkyTerra Announces Plans To Separate Into Two Public Companies
New York (SPX) Sep 23, 2005SkyTerra Communications announced Thursday that it plans to separate into two publicly owned companies: SkyTerra, which would solely hold SkyTerra's current stake in each of Mobile Satellite Ventures and TerreStar Networks; and a newly formed entity that would own all of SkyTerra's other assets including its managing interest in Hughes Network Systems. |
