Energia Hosts Second Convention For Students Of Space

After the meeting, the students visited the RSC Energia museum and the check-out facility of the RSC Energia manufacturing plant, where they could see the current work done by the Corporation, and had a meeting with pilots-cosmonauts M.V.Tyurin and K.M.Kozeev.

S.P.Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia hosted the 2nd Convention of students from space-industry related institutions and departments of higher education in Moscow - Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow State Forest University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Moscow Aviation Technology Institute, Moscow State Technical University STANKIN, Moscow Engineering Physics Institute.

The convention has already become a tradition and is held for the purpose of getting the students acquainted with the Corporation's work on rocket and space hardware and space research, as well as in the interests of improving the training of new specialists.

Speaking to the students, teachers and managers of the institutes of higher education at the joint meeting of the Convention participants held in the Corporation conference hall, the President and General Designer of S.P.Korolev RSC Energia V.A.Lopota presented an overview of the company's history, major areas of its activities and new projects in the field of advanced rocket and space systems.

The Convention participants were also addressed to by the Corporation vice president, first deputy general designer V.M.Filin, the heads of the institutions of higher education, a head of a department at RSC Energia N.V.Kazinsky who graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University in 2003 and as soon as 3 years after that he was put in charge of a design department.

Meeting in a joint session, representatives of the institutions administration, managers and leading specialists of S.P.Korolev RSC Energia examined issues involved in improving the system of training new specialists and further cooperation.
