DigitalGlobe, Merrick Extend Reseller Agreement To Service Mexico

DigitalGlobe's QuickBird satellite

 DigitalGlobe today announced that Merrick Advanced Photogrammetry of the Americas S. de R.L. de C.V. is now an authorized reseller of QuickBird high-resolution satellite imagery in Mexico. MAPA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Colorado-based Merrick & Company.

"We look forward to extending our U.S.-based relationship with DigitalGlobe to benefit our remote sensing clientele in Mexico. This service will offer additional options for generating geospatial solutions to support MAPA," said Brian Raber, CMS, vice president of GIS Operations for Merrick & Company, and president of MAPA.

"We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Merrick in the United States, and look forward to the prospect of growing this relationship to service customers in Mexico," said Jeff Kerridge, senior vice president of International Sales for DigitalGlobe.

New Legislation Initiated To Support Commercial Remote Sensing Industry

 The importance of remotely sensed data and technologies to support natural disasters has prompted attention and action in Washington. New initiatives and legislation authorizing appropriations to the remote sensing industry will be discussed at Strategic Research Institute's U.S. Commercial Remote Sensing Industry conference, scheduled for February 9-10, 2006 in Washington D.C.
