Castle Rock - Jan 19, 2004 SANZ has announced that DigitalGlobe of Longmont, Colo., has purchased a multi-seat license of their EarthWhere spatial data provisioning application. DigitalGlobe plans to utilize EarthWhere as a part of its core information technology (IT) infrastructure to manage and deliver custom digital imagery datasets for existing and future customers. "We were looking for a tool which was flexible and could support a high volume of requests from end users," stated Jim Friedel, Senior Director of New Products from DigitalGlobe. "As we focus on our next generation of products and services, we will rely on leading edge solutions such as EarthWhere to meet the requirements of our growing customer base." DigitalGlobe is assembling an online archive of customer-focused imagery products, which can be accessed through a variety of interfaces. The reliance on open standards such as OGC, will assure that the solutions developed can be easily integrated directly into the customer's application providing just-in-time data access. Using imagery derived from their QuickBird satellite, DigitalGlobe will leverage the application expertise of partners to develop datasets for specific markets and then serve this through on-demand services with EarthWhere as a key component. "DigitalGlobe has the vision, leadership and expertise to make a real impact on this market," stated Mark Hardy, SANZ's VP of Geospatial Solutions. "We spent a great deal of time working with their team and their input has provided a positive impact on the direction of the EarthWhere application. We look forward to continuing this partnership to support the market."
