Comtech Telecommunications Receives Order For Satellite Communications Equipment

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received a $1.9 million satellite communications equipment order from a U.S. government agency. The equipment will be deployed to expand a satellite communications network.

The order encompasses satellite modems, including the new SLM-5650, redundancy switches, amplifiers and terminals. The SLM-5650 Satellite Modem complies with the strict requirements of the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) defined in Military Standard (MIL-STD)-188-165A, modem types I, II, IV, V and VI.

This high-speed modem offers flexible interfaces including gigabit ethernet, advanced forward error correction and higher order modulation. It is compact and rugged, ideally suited for many government and military applications, such as fixed, at-the-pause and on-the-move communications.

Raytheon Awarded Contract For Space Situational Awareness Improvements Demonstration

Raytheon Company has been awarded a $950,000 U.S. Air Force contract to demonstrate improvements to space situational awareness. The program will significantly contribute to determining the approach for accomplishing the Air Force's mission of being able to identify, track and determine the behavior of all space objects in earth orbit.
