Melville NY (SPX) Jan 11, 2006 Comtech Telecommunications has announced that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, received a letter contract with a not-to-exceed ceiling value of $22.6 million for satellite communications and network management services. Initial funding was set at $16.9 million, or 75% of the ceiling. The contract is expected to be definitized and funded to its final negotiated ceiling within the next few months. Under the contract with the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM), Comtech will supply satellite capacity, communications and network management services, and related support. The contract relates to Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below - Blue Force Tracking (FBCB2-BFT), a battle command real-time situational awareness command and control system. Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications, said, "We are pleased to receive this contract award, and believe it further demonstrates the continued critical role our network technology plays in the Blue Force Tracking program. Interest in our mobile data communications technology remains strong within the Department of Defense's logistics and war fighter communities."
