China Plans to Join International Space Station Project
Beijing - January 17 2000 - China's Ministry of Science and Technology is currently drawing up plans to participate in the international space station project reported People's Daily Online Friday. Wang Shaoqi, the head of the Ministry of Science and Technology's international scientific cooperation division, was quoted as saying his technology department was currently discussing increasing China's cooperation with Germany, the US, England, France, Canada, Japan and especially Russia. Earlier this year, the Minister of Science and Technology, Lu Yongxiang announced that the Ministry would put the focus of international joint ventures on major international projects. The People's Daily Online report said the Ministry of Science and Technology would increase investments in international technological joint ventures and make sure that China would not pay less than 10% of the expenses to international joint ventures. Satellite Launch To Boost DTH In India
Calcutta, India (SPX) Dec 28, 2005The successful launch Thursday of India's heaviest satellite from spaceport of Kourou in French Guyana may have boosted the country's space research efforts to yet another level, but it has also lifted the spirits of at least three Direct-To-Home televisions broadcasters, one of which has been waiting for years to launch its services in India. |
