Milpitas CA (SPX) May 31, 2005
Globalstar announced Thursday that Burlington Resources Canada, a division of Burlington Resources has purchased and activated 120 GSP-1600 handheld phones.

This purchase, through Authorized Globalstar dealer Glentel, will help provide a dependable communications link for workers in the drilling, completion and construction areas of Burlington Resources.

Burlington's large purchase of satellite phones reflects its commitment to safety and being proactive within the oil and gas industry.

Globalstar satellite phones work in remote areas where traditional wireless services are unavailable, making Globalstar a valuable communications tool for aiding emergency communications in remote work areas.

Globalstar provides satellite phone service for as low as $0.32 per minute of airtime. Please see a complete listing of price plans at http://www.globalstar.ca

"Burlington Resources had researched its options for satellite communications for its remote work areas and decided on Globalstar for a variety of reasons," said Dave Afseth, General Manager Drilling, Completions, and Construction for Burlington Resources.

"Globalstar presented an excellent combination of dependability, cost effectiveness and usage flexibility for our company. We see Globalstar as a strong resource in our efforts to improve remote area communications and to help meet the legislative requirements for Work Alone regulations."

Steven Bell, Senior Vice President International Sales, Marketing and Customer Care Operations, Globalstar LLC commented, "We see the Globalstar units as a way to help meet a regulatory requirement and to provide a service that could increase Burlington Resources' remote worker efficiency as well.

"The package we developed with Burlington Resources is great for maintaining contact from the field for safety, while allowing employees in remote areas to efficiently manage their work such as updating program information, coordinating suppliers and co-workers and accessing email."
