Boeing to provide services for Air Force cruise missiles

Boeing was awarded a contract from the U.S. Air Force for services in support of air-launched cruise missiles.

The deal, announced Wednesday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $7.6 million under a undefinitized contract action.

The agreement between the U.S. Air Force and Boeing enables the company to provide 571 remanufactured rotary switches in the air-launched cruise missiles, according to a Pentagon news release.

Work will occur in Heath, Ohio, and is expected to be complete by May 2025.

The total amount of the contract will be obligated to Boeing at time of award from the fiscal 2017 missiles procurement funds.

The State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale to Ukraine of Javelin Missiles and Javelin Command Launch Units, the latest in a series of moves to help the country defend itself against Russian aggression.
