Australian Space Industry Sees New Growth
Industry Spotlight : Australian Space - July 31 - August 13, 1998 The Australia government is on the verge of approving a radical space legislation bill which is expected to be submitted to the Federal Parliament by the end of the month. Successful passage of the bill could see Australia emerge as an important site for the launch of commercial satellite systems, particularly satellites for the carriage of telecommunications services. Kistler Boosts Local Confidence 
Sydney - July 30, 1998 - The 5th Australian Space Development Conference came to a close this Wednesday with the 200 plus delegates pleasantly surprised at the broad industry base that had been built up over the 1990s in Australia. Confidence in the space industry's future and Australia's revitalized role was underscored by construction starting on Kistler's primary K-1 launch center at Woomera in central Australia.
