AVX To Present At The 2014 Space Parts Working Group

AVX Corporation will deliver two presentations about its high reliability base metal electrode (BME) and tantalum capacitor technologies at the 43rd annual Space Parts Working Group, which will take place April 22-23, 2014 in Torrance, Calif.

Sponsored by The Aerospace Corporation in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center and the National Reconnaissance Office, the Space Parts Working Group is an unclassified, international forum for disseminating information to the aerospace industry and resolving problems with high reliability electronic components for space applications.

"AVX manufactures a number of cutting-edge capacitors specifically designed to address the performance, size, and cost requirements for aerospace applications, so we are pleased to have the opportunity to interact directly with representatives from agencies including NASA, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and the European and Canadian Space Agencies at the 2014 Space Parts Working Group," said Chris Reynolds, technical manager, AVX.

This year's Space Parts Working Group will feature 56 presentations about current technological capabilities, issues, and solutions, new problem-solving products, industry forecasts, and technology roadmaps delivered by a variety of government agencies, prime system contractors and subcontractors, parts suppliers, and laboratory personnel.

Topics of particular interest this year include: non-hermetic packaging technologies, hermeticity testing, lead-free initiatives, and specs and standards.

AVX Technical Manager Chris Reynolds will address advancements in space level BME capacitors on Wednesday, April 23 at 3:50pm, and will deliver a presentation about AVX's high reliability tantalum capacitors that same day at 4:20pm.
