2 dead in Algeria military plane crash
by Staff Writers
Algiers (AFP) Oct 13, 2014

An Algerian air force plane crashed Monday in the south of the country during a training exercise, killing the two soldiers on board, the defence ministry said.

It said the Sukhoi Su-24, a bomber first developed in the former Soviet Union, went town near Hassi Bahbah in the Djelfa region, 270 kilometres (165 miles) south of Algiers.

An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the accident.

On July 24, an Air Algerie plane crashed in Mali, killing all 116 people on board. And the crash of a military transport plane in eastern Algeria in February killed 77 soldiers and family members.
