Sofia, Aug 7, 2006 Two Bulgarian road workers were struck dead by lightning and another was injured in a thunderstorm Monday near Smolian in southern Bulgaria, the state BTA news agency reported. The three men were cutting grass along the road when the storm began. They sought shelter beneath a fir tree but it was struck by a thunderbolt, killing two of them, the agency said. Another violent thunderstorm in June killed 70 goats near the central Bulgarian village of Sennik as the 38-year-old goatherder escaped with his life.
