Islamabad (AFP) Jul 29, 2006 At least 30 people were feared dead after flash floods swept them away overnight in northern Pakistan, an official said Saturday. A seasonal stream flooded by heavy monsoon rains washed away the men who had set up stalls for a weekly bazaar near the stream in the village of Takht Nasrti in North West Frontier Province. "Six bodies have been recovered and rescuers are trying to find the other missing people who are feared to have died in the torrent," an official of the flood warning center, Abdul Wali Yousafzai said. Pakistan has been hit by torrential rains over the past two weeks which have caused widespread damage to crops and claimed dozens of lives.
