SOLON has announced it secured a contract from Rivermoor Energy and Fischbach and Moore, on behalf of National Grid to supply its premium quality solar modules for a one-megawatt solar photovoltaic project. National Grid's project will provide a new "brightfield" to Haverhill, Mass. Construction on the Haverhill project has begun by solar developer Rivermoor Energy and electrical contractor, Fischbach and Moore. World Bank-managed Haiti aid fund only 20 percent full

A 500-million dollar pledge of aid for Haiti quake relief promised three months ago is only 20 percent full, the World Bank said Wednesday. China seizes eight tonnes of endangered pangolins
Beijing (AFP) July 15, 2010
Chinese customs said they have seized nearly eight tonnes of frozen pangolins - an endangered species of scaly anteater - from a fishing boat off the southern coast. The vessel was intercepted in June carrying the huge haul of animals and nearly two tonnes of their scales, said a statement on the website of customs authorities in Jiangmen in Guangdong province.
