Australia offshore rig leak plugged

PTTEP Australasia, the company behind an August oil spill considered one of Australia's worst environmental disasters, has plugged and secured the leaking well at its offshore Montara rig. "There are many steps to be undertaken before we can make full assessments of the status of the platform and development work can be resumed in 2010 to safely bring the Montara field into production," PTTEP's Australia Director Jose Martins said Wednesday, Upstream Online reports. Eastman Kodak Co. announced Thursday that it has filed lawsuits against Apple and Blackberry maker Research In Motion alleging they infringed Kodak digital imaging technology. The photography company said it had filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission claiming that camera-enabled iPhones and Blackberrys infringe a Kodak patent related to an image previewing method. ... more
