Moscow, Aug 4, 2006 Two earthquakes registering over 6 on the Richter Scale shook the north Lake Baikal region of eastern Siberia overnight Friday, the Russian authorities said. The tremors late Thursday and early Friday, whose epicentre was 30 kilometres (20 miles) southeast of Severobaikalsk, did not cause any damage, the emergencies ministry said.
