Lebanese army confiscates rocket launcher, rockets Beirut (AFP) Jul 29, 2006 The Lebanese army on Saturday confiscated a Grad multiple rocket launcher and 25 rockets in a raid in the south of the country, security sources said. The military material was found in Haoush al-Qinnabeh, 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the frontier with Israel, in southeast Lebanon. An armed Palestinian was arrested in the area, which is just 7 kilometres (4 miles) away from a camp of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC), a pro-Syrian Palestinian group. Several rockets have been fired on Israel in the past months from this sector. They have never been claimed by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah and the Lebanese press has blamed them on the PFLP-GC. The Lebanese army has stood on the sidelines of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel although its facilities have been hit in Israeli air raids.
