Islamabad (AFP) Jul 26, 2006 Pakistan on Wednesday strongly denounced the killing of up to four UN observers in an Israeli air strike in Lebanon. "We strongly condemn the killing of the United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon," foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam told AFP. Pakistan has been pursuing diplomatic efforts with other Muslim countries towards a ceasefire in the escalating Middle East conflict. The UN observers were killed when Israeli forces bombarded a UN post in the south Lebanon town of Khiam on Tuesday.
