Tablets fueling surge in smart devices: study
Washington (AFP) March 26, 2013
Tablet computers fueled growth in 2012 in the market for "smart connected devices," which crossed the threshold of one billion units for the first time, a study showed Tuesday. A report by the research firm IDC said worldwide shipments of these devices - personal computers, tablets and smartphones - grew 29.1 percent in 2012 to 1.2 billion units with a value of $576.9 billion.
