Nigerian rebel warns of 'utter chaos'

A jailed insurgent leader warned that fighting in the Niger Delta, center of the largest oil industry in sub-Saharan Africa, will soon escalate. That could impact heavily on Nigeria's oil production and its exports, the mainstay of its economy. The country, the most populous on the continent, is a key supplier of crude to the United States.
