Better weather spurs hope over US oil spill
Venice, Louisiana (AFP) May 3, 2010
Kinder weather aided efforts Monday to counter a giant oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, as BP prepared to launch an unprecedented operation to try to contain the main leak with a giant dome. "We expect to load out the fabricated containment chamber tomorrow and we hope to have the system up and operating within a week," BP Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles told reporters.
