Swiss solar-energy plane passes first flight test
Payerne, Switzerland (AFP) April 7, 2010
The Solar Impulse aircraft, a pioneering Swiss bid to fly around the world on solar energy, successfully completed its first test flight in western Switzerland on Wednesday. "There has never been in the past an aeroplane of that kind to fly. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday urged restraint in a growing dispute between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan over the fate of a massive Tajik hydro-electric dam project.
