Ever wanted to see a nuclear reactor core in action? A new computer algorithm developed by researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory allows scientists to view nuclear fission in much finer detail than ever before. A team of nuclear engineers and computer scientists at Argonne National Laboratory are developing the neutron transport code UNIC, which enables researchers for the first time to obtain a highly detailed description of a nuclear reactor core. ... read more

Covidien has reported a definitive agreement to sell its radiopharmacies in the United States to Triad Isotopes, Inc. of Orlando, Florida. Triad operates a network of 26 nuclear radiopharmacies and six cyclotron facilities in the southeast United States. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Oil prices slip as market frets about Chinese demand

Oil prices resumed their downward movement Tuesday as the market fretted about China's moves to tighten credit to cool economic growth that could weaken energy demand in the Asian giant. New York's main futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in March, slid 55 cents to close at 74.71 dollars a barrel. In intraday trade, the futures contract fell to 73.82 dollars, its lowest prices since December 22.
